Liqvinet's former name was UB Tradegate and the company was part of United Bankers. In october 2009 the management bought the majority of the company in order to become a stand-alone broker. At the same time the company's name was changed to Liqvinet Ltd. The company continues to operate as a tied agent of UB Securities Ltd.
