Liqvinet Ltd was founded in the summer 2008 as UB Tradegate and was part of United Bankers group. In autumn 2009 the heads of the company bought the majority of the shares from United Bankers and the name was changed to Liqvinet Ltd.

Liqvinet is still on a very close relationship with United Bankers group as a tied agent and via UB Securities also Liqvinet is under control of the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (http://www.finanssivalvonta.fi/en/Pages/Default.aspx).
